First Serve

The 5-7 month FirstServe programme runs from either September or February each year and includes an introductory course at Tilsley College, a short placement in a home-country local church, and a longer overseas experience which can be tailored to your timescale and interests.

An overseas experience is the main component of the FirstServe programme and this provides an excellent opportunity to experience other peoples and cultures. The FirstServer is supervised by experienced mission workers, and will gain significant insight into how mission works and the challenges mission workers face.

The FirstServe gap year initiative has been developed and is supported by Echoes International, Counties and GLO (Tilsley College). Overseas placements are arranged in partnership with workers associated with these mission service groups.
