McLEOD Gordon & Alison

Kilmarnock, SCOTLAND

GLO Media Ministry

Gordon and Alison were married in July 1995, they have two girls, Caitlin and Amy and they worship at Central Evangelical Church Kilmarnock.

Having an interest in media and especially for filming Gordon felt a call from God to use his skills in ministry back in May 2012. Having prayed about this Gordon didn’t know where God wanted to place him or even how this would all work out. Gordon and Alison were praying for confirmation about this when one evening when Gordon received an email from Stephen McQuoid saying that he had been praying for them for the last 6 months and that they should prayerfully consider going into full time ministry. This was an exciting confirmation and started a journey of looking into various Christian organisations that use media within their ministry.

While there are many organisations out there Gordon felt that this ministry should be available for more than just one organisation and also felt that he should also be part of a team that he could be accountable to. GLO quickly became the obvious choice for this and after a number of meetings and lots of prayer and discussion with church Elders and family over an 18 month period Gordon began to work with GLO to start a new media ministry at the beginning of September 2014.

Alison works part time as an Community Practitioner working with vulnerable families in East Ayrshire, and has been involved with children’s work in Central Evangelical Church for the past 19 years until a couple of years ago when she stepped back after feeling that God was calling her to focus her work with Women in the community. Alison started a Women’s ministry called Fragrance and she has also taken on the role of Sports Chaplin for Kilmarnock Ladies football team.

Aside from filming Gordon has an interest in Motorbikes and is part of a local biker ministry called “Full Armour Motorcycle Ministries” and over the last couple of year he has taken up running to keep fit and lose weight. Over the last two years he has lost 4.5 stone almost 30kg and has ran a number of Ultra Marathons from 30miles/48km long to 54 miles/87kmlong and a 24hr hour race being his longest challenge to date where he ran 87 miles/140km.

Alison is not as adventurous but she does run the odd 5k and over the last couple of years has done the local 10k Roon the Toon race in Kilmarnock. She likes to walk the dog, enjoy family fun times and socialise with her friends over coffee.

They do all these things to the Glory of God and take every opportunity to share their faith through all that they do.

GLO is a faith based ministry

GLO members are not salaried and consequently rely on gifts from supporters and churches.
