GLO Europe | Growing Mission Focused Churches in Europe

GOODALL Jan

Motherwell, SCOTLAND

Having trained in administration and worked as a Personal Secretary in the United Nations Association for eight years, Jan felt an increasing desire in her heart to use her administration skills for the work of the Lord. In due time, the Lord opened up an opportunity and in September 1990 Jan was commended from Roman Road Gospel Hall in Motherwell to serve full-time as Personal Secretary to John Speirs in his role as European Co-ordinator for the work of GLO. During her first year at GLO, Jan combined her new job in the office with undertaking studies on the Tilsley College Training Programme which she found to be a great blessing in her Christian life.

Jan says that working alongside John at the heart of the work of GLO Europe taught her invaluable lessons not only in administration but in effective Christian life and ministry.

Jan’s role within GLO changed at the end of 2014 when John Speirs officially retired from GLO but she continues to assist him on a part-time basis particularly in relation to his ministry with Christian Missions Charitable Trust (CMCT) in India.

Within GLO, Jan now works part-time alongside Ian Smith (GLO Finance Director) and her main responsibility is to co-ordinate the hiring of the Conference Facilities at the GLO Centre in Motherwell. She enjoys meeting the event organisers and working with them to provide the specific facilities they require and to ensure that their visit to the GLO Centre is a positive experience.

Ladies’ Ministry is another aspect to Jan’s life. As well as leading the Ladies’ Fellowship in her local church she speaks at other Ladies’ Groups and often shares about the ministry of CMCT India. She has visited India on a number of occasions since 2006. Together with other GLO colleagues, she is also involved in leading a Precepts Ladies’ Bible Study Group at the GLO Centre.

GLO is a faith based ministry

GLO members are not salaried and consequently rely on gifts from supporters and churches.
