We are Charlie and Tania Deering, originally from N.Ireland. We have a daughter, Naomi, and a son, Mark, who is married to Nicole and they are the parents of our grandson, Luke.
Since we married in 1989, we have been members of Glenabbey Church in Glengormley, N.Ireland, which has been our sending church ever since.
Our first cross cultural experience began in 1995 with HCJB (now Reach Beyond) and we worked with them for 7 years based in Shell, Ecuador. In 2002 we returned to our home in Carrickfergus where we worked and lived until September 2012 when we moved to Madrid in Spain to work with European Christian Mission.
During the summer of 2020 we said our farewells to ECM to begin a new chapter of our lives with GLO based in Motherwell. Charlie is working as centre manager and Tania is helping with childcare and catering for the students of Tilsley College.
We enjoy working in a supportive role and being involved in the ministry centre will certainly allow us to do that and our desire and prayer is that our work will enable our brothers and sisters within the GLO family to be more effective and fruitful in their ministries.
Both of us enjoy reading, music and walking. When the opportunity arises, Tania likes to swim and Charlie is usually keen for a leisurely game of football…emphasis on the “leisurely”!
