Supporting students at Tilsley College
I was brought up in Greenock and became a Christian in my late teens. After I had completed a degree in French, God brought to my attention the need for Bible translation and literacy work, so I attended a training course in England where I met my future husband, Peter. This took me in a completely unexpected direction as we were led to serve God in Pakistan. Peter concentrated on teaching and preaching in local churches and I took on various roles at a school which trained missionaries to speak the languages needed for their ministries. I also home schooled our son and daughter who were born during our time in Pakistan.
After fifteen years, we had to return to the UK unexpectedly and I worked in administration for the local council for several years. In 2012 the Lord made it possible for Peter and me to go back to the mission field, this time to Lima in Peru, where I became involved in outreach through English conversation classes. I returned to Motherwell in 2016 for personal reasons and a year later joined the staff at Tilsley College.
My role as Registrar at Tilsley is to keep the academic side of the work running smoothly and so help ensure that the students leave equipped to serve the Lord at home or abroad.
