José Junior is Brazilian and grew up in the city of Rio de Janeiro. As a young man, he met Jesus Christ during the youth meetings at New Life Church where he also met his wife, Luana. From then on, he began his studies. His first degree was in History and later, a BA in Theology and a postgraduate degree in Christian Philosophy. In 2022 he completed his master’s degree in the areas of religion, culture and society. In Brazil, he served in several theological seminaries as a professor and academic coordinator, helping to train pastors and Christian leaders. He currently serves in Tilsley College as Academic Dean. He and his wife have a daughter, Maria Luiza, and live in the small town of Kilsyth, North Lanarkshire and attend Kilsyth Community Church. They like to cook Brazilian meals and take long walks in Colzium Park.
