George and his wife Lidia were the first GLO Romania workers when the work commenced in 1993. George is one of the leaders in the Brethren church in Sibiu and has been involved in gypsy church planting since 2003. There are five gypsy churches that George is currently involved in, some he visits regularly and some only occasionally. George also planted two of these churches, one in Garu Raului and one in Rachita and as of December 2013 has begun a children’s work in Turnu Rosu. Out of the five villages that George is involved in he helped four of them with fund raising for the church buildings they now have and has also helped raise funds to allow some very poor families to have homes. Lidia assisted in the ministry for many years but sadly passed away in April 2025.
George has two sons, Cristi and Sami. Cristi and his wife Simona also work with GLO and are involved in the gypsy work and run the children’s programs, children’s camps and teach Sunday School at Gura Raului. Sami works as an engineer on a farm.
